
Deborah L. Arnold, 76, of Utica, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born June 22, 1948 in Owensboro to the late Jesse W. Vowels and Wanda J. Vowels. Debbie was a lifelong member of the West Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses in Owensboro. She practiced her devotion to Jehovah daily, writing her Bible books and verses into her notes for reference. A loving and kind person to all the ones she met in her life and treated them all with respect and dignity. She retired from Atmos Energy and later retired from Owensboro Board of Education where she developed lifelong friendships.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Golda Wermling; a loving aunt, Beverly Wermling; and loving sister, Victoria A. Wright.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Arnold; brother, William C. “Little Billy” Vowels (Peggy); stepmom, Linda Vowels of Shepherdsville; brother-in-law, Forrest Wright of Danville, Virginia; brother-in-law, Dan Arnold (Sharon) of Frankfort; nieces, Nicole Bowman (Billy), Carolyn Wright of Danville, VA, and Beverly Hansford (Jeff) of Lexington, VA; nephews, Justin Vowels of Owensboro and Daniel Arnold (Paula) of Springfield, Tennessee.
There will be no public memorial. The family will have a private memorial, according to Deborah’s wishes.
The family would like to thank the many nurses and aides of the 8th and 9th floor of Owensboro Health for their loving care during her stay at the hospital. Deborah loved them for their kindness that she received.
