The Owensboro Symphony is hitting the road this summer with its popular and imaginative Symphony Storytime program, bringing music and storytelling to children across several counties.
The tour kicks off June 3 at 5 p.m. at the McLean County Public Library and features the classic tale Peter and the Wolf. The story follows a young boy who defies his grandfather’s warnings to venture into the woods and protect his animal friends from a lurking wolf.
In addition to McLean County, the Symphony will visit three more libraries throughout the summer:
- Friday, June 27 – 5 p.m. at Henderson County Public Library
- Tuesday, July 1 – 10 a.m. at Daviess County Public Library
- Friday, July 18 – 5:30 p.m. at Ohio County Public Library
Symphony Storytime introduces children to some of the most recognizable classical music through the Story Orchestra book series. Each session pairs a read-aloud with musical interludes from well-known orchestral works and includes an educational component led by the Owensboro Symphony’s education team.
The program is designed to engage young audiences through storytelling, music appreciation, and interactive learning.
