
Audrey Jane Robinson, a mother, grandmother, former school library assistant and active member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church in Owensboro, died early Friday June 27, 2025, after a long battle with brain cancer. She was 87. Audrey retired in 2001 after working for 27 years with the Owensboro Board of Education. After her retirement she continued to volunteer for more than 30 years with the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry through the Daviess County Detention Center where she graded exams for inmates working to continue their education, as well as with Pitino Shelter, Mary Kendall Home, Fresh Start for Women and Redbird Mission. She was an active member of United Wesleyan Women and sang for nearly 50 years with the Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church choir for nearly 50 years. A graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, Ky., Audrey was born on August 14, 1937 in Raymond, Illinois to the late Loran Coonrod and Lucille Martin Coonrod.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, David Robinson, on April 3, 2011; a brother, Silas Coonrad; and sisters, Pat McKay and Barbara Martin.
Survivors include her two sons Scott Gregory Robinson and his wife, Sheryl Gay Stolberg of Chevy Chase, MD and their children, Olivia Mae Robinson and Hannah Jane Robinson; David Mitchell Robinson and his wife, Debra Cecil Robinson of Salina, Kansas and their children, David Alexander Robinson and his wife, Sarah Bice Robinson, Lillian Audrey Robinson, and Bennett Gray Robinson; and a sister, Connie Baldwin.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
