The Owensboro Family YMCA is launching a new full-day Infant and Toddler Child Care program this fall, expanding its early childhood services to include care for children as young as 6 weeks old. Registration is now open, though space is limited.
YMCA leaders say the program will provide affordable, developmentally appropriate care for infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 3 years at the YMCA’s main campus. Services begin September 2 and will operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. The weekly rate is $175 for YMCA members.
Tom Bontrager, CEO of the Owensboro Family YMCA, said this expansion is being offered in partnership with the Public Life Foundation of Owensboro as part of a broader effort to improve child care access for local families and support working parents. The YMCA already operates after-school and summer camp programs for school-aged children.
“Families in Owensboro deserve access to high-quality early childhood education and care, and we are thrilled to open our doors to our youngest learners,” Bontrager said. “Thanks to the generous support of the Public Life Foundation, our government agencies, and other donors, we are able to launch this vital program that will serve our community with excellence.”
A preschool program is expected to be added in January 2026.
