James Ira Moorman, Sr., 69, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at his home. He was born December 21, 1955 to the late James L. Moorman and Anna Pearl Hayes Moorman. James was a retired firefighter for the City of Owensboro. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Ann Huff.
He is survived by a son, James I. Moorman, Jr.; daughter, Jackie Lynn Moorman (Phillip Williams); three grandchildren, James I. Moorman “Trey”, III, Jayden Moorman, and Kamron Moorman; a sister, Nelda Kay Moorman; and several nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be held at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
