
Madaline Tanner Miller, 89, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 16, 1935 in Ohio County to the late Henry Lawrence Tanner and Jessie Patton Tanner. Madaline retired from Texas Gas where she worked as a secretary for almost 40 years. After retirement, Madaline worked at Kentucky Wesleyan College as a secretary. She was a member of Third Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years and served several terms as church clerk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William E. Miller; sister, Jean Norris; and a brother, Fred Tanner.
She is survived by her sons, Greg Miller (Cathy) and Craig Miller, of Owensboro; daughter, Jackie Gentry (Jimmy) of Rome, Georgia; grandchildren, Emily Browning (Robert), Nicholas Gentry, Laura Benjey (Roy) and Evan Miller (Joanna); and great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Julia, Maggie Browning, and Micah Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
