
Cevilla Brown Krahwinkel, 91, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born October 20, 1933 in McLean County to the late Owen and Clarice Brooks Brown. Cevilla graduated from Calhoun High School in 1952 and then went on to graduate from Murray State College School of Nursing in 1957. After completing nursing school, Cevilla began her nursing career at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah and then worked at Fort Campbell Army Hospital for two years before retiring from Owensboro Daviess County Hospital after 38 years as a registered nurse in obstetrics.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Krahwinkel; brother, Bob Brown; sister, Mary Springer; and Howard E. Krahwinkel.
She is survived by her son, Ed Krahwinkel (Jodi) and two grandchildren, Owen Krahwinkel and Avery Krahwinkel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. A private burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Beech Grove. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
