
Ricky Howard, moved to Heaven on September 26, 2025, after retiring from his brave and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a warrior, a husband, father, grandfather, and a great-grandfather who gave it all for another year. Ricky Dale Howard, 67 years old, was born in Owensboro, to the late Oswald Howard and Lucille Sipes Howard.
He was a retired electrician dedicating 34 years to Field’s Packing Company and retiring after 11 years with Glenmore Distillery. Ricky’s passion was his family. He loved each and every one of them with all he had to give. He loved to watch UK and his Green Bay Packers – Go Pack Go! He loved playing volleyball, wallyball, horseshoes, chess, and hunting. However, his favorite pastime was finding all the moments to just have all his family together and make memories.
Ricky was welcomed in Heaven by his parents; his beautiful sister, Janet Unsel; his honorable brother, Rex Howard; and his twin brother, Micky Howard.
Ricky is survived by the love of his life for 48 years, Dana “Sandy” Carman Howard; his three greatest gifts and their loving husbands, Wendy and Randy Ford, Christy and Aaron Schaefer, Leslie and P.J. Starks; nine amazing grandkids that held his heart, Kelsey (Alan) Simon, Dylan Schaefer, Dana Ford, Abby Dotson, Sarah Ford, Brayden Ford, Lucus Dotson, Connor Starks and Logan Starks; three adored great-grandchildren, Colson Simon, Lorelei Simon, and Ivy Simon.
Ricky has one brother surviving who he held dear to his heart and loved so very much, Tony (Michele) Howard. He also had numerous nieces and nephews he adored.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
