In a pair of 9th district matchups, Apollo and Owensboro Catholic both emerged victorious, while Hancock County beat McLean County.

Apollo 3, Daviess County 0

Maddi Roberts finished with a team-high 17 assists and added 11 digs, and two service aces in the E-Gals’ 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-16) win over Daviess County. Keelan Wettstain added 22 digs, nine kills, and three service aces, while Avery Gray had 20 digs, 11 kills, and two service aces.

“I was pleased with the intensity that our girls brought tonight from the very first point and never let up,” Apollo Head Coach Mary Howard said. “We were aggressive from the service line and moved well on defense. It was a great way to finish out regular season district play.”

For the Lady Panthers, Lexi Jones finished with 22 digs, three assists, and one service ace, and Stella Roberts added 12 assists, two digs, and one block. Zoe Raymond and Kyndal Murphy combined for 25 digs, while Reese Whiteside recorded five kills, five digs, and four blocks.

Hancock County 3, McLean County 0

Annie Shelton finished with 12 digs and six kills, and Abbi Shivers added nine digs and one service ace in the Lady Cougars’ 3-0 (23-25, 23-25, 23-25) loss to Hancock County. Hadley Young added 11 digs, four service aces, and three kills, while Hadlie Coursey finished with five assists and four digs.

“The Lady Cougars played well tonight, but we just fell a little short,” McLean County Head Coach Traci Capps said. “We just struggled being able to “finish” during our sets. We just need to continue to work on our mental toughness, and then I think more wins will come.”

Owensboro Catholic 3, Owensboro 0

Mayme Powell recorded a team high 30 assists and added four digs, two service aces, and one kill in the Lady Aces’ 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-22) win over Owensboro. Emma Castlen finished with nine service aces, seven kills, five blocks, and two digs, while Ava Martin had a team-high eight kills to go with her five digs, three service aces, and three blocks.

For the Lady Devils, June Larsen had a team-high 27 digs and added four assists and three service aces, while Anna Travis finished with 20 assists, 11 digs, seven blocks, and two kills. Carsyn Cecil posted seven blocks, seven digs, six kills, and two service aces, and Ayrish Barksdale led the team in kills with 10.
