A 64-year-old Owensboro man was arrested Thursday morning as part of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force investigation, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
Philip D. Basham was taken into custody after detectives with OPD’s Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at his residence in the 2200 block of Westerfield Drive. Officers seized multiple child sex dolls along with other items that require forensic analysis, which may result in additional charges, according to a release.
Basham was transported to the Daviess County Detention Center and charged with four counts of knowingly possessing a child sex doll, one count of knowingly trafficking in a child sex doll, and one count of marijuana possession.
The ICAC task force is made up of specially trained OPD detectives who focus on identifying individuals who prey on children.
“These types of investigations may lead to the identification of other child predators or additional charges,” police said in the release.
