Owensboro Catholic and Daviess County each picked up convincing district wins Friday night, pulling away early and controlling the pace in their respective matchups.
Owensboro Catholic 64, Apollo 29
Owensboro Catholic jumped out early and cruised past Apollo for a 64-29 victory.
The Lady Aces led 17-8 after the first quarter and stretched the margin to 41-13 by halftime. Owensboro Catholic outscored the E-Gals 18-11 in the third quarter to take a 59-24 lead before both teams scored five points apiece in the fourth.
Taylor Mannahan led Owensboro Catholic with 16 points, while Katie Hagan added 14 and Layla Martin finished with 12.
Mattingly Taylor led Apollo with 10 points.
Daviess County 63, Owensboro 36
Daviess County pulled away early and never looked back in a 63-36 win over Owensboro.
The Lady Panthers built a 12-5 lead after the first quarter and took a 33-15 advantage into halftime. Daviess County continued to control the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Devils 11-6 to extend the lead to 44-21.
Riley Hayden and Kennedy Lane each scored 21 points to lead Daviess County.
Owensboro was led by Unique Carter-Swanagan with 20 points.
