Over the weekend in a quad swim meet, Owensboro Catholic held off their local rivals to take first place with a total score of 238. Henderson County finished second (211), Owensboro third (131), and Apollo fourth (38).
The Lady Aces finished first on the girls’ side, winning the 200-medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, 50 butterfly, and 100 IM. The boys’ team finished third, winning the 200-medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, 50 backstroke, and 100 IM.
Owensboro’s boys finished second, while their girls were third. For the Red Devils, they won both the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly.
“Congratulations to all our competitors for their strong performances,” Owensboro Head Coach Sean Jackson said. “We appreciate all of the officials and volunteers who help make these meets possible. Owensboro High School swimmers continue to show progress in technique, as evidenced by consistently lower times. Our new strategy is working as our boys brought home a second-place finish.”
