It was a positive night for the local teams, as Apollo, Daviess County, and Owensboro Catholic all won. In other action, the Raiders split their double header, and Owensboro fell on the road.

Apollo 72, Hialeah, Fl 43

Landon Henning exploded for 32 points to power Apollo past Hialeah, FL, 72-43. Kayden Green added 13 points, and Carlos Cruz was third on the team in scoring with eight points.

“It was a slow first half, but we played really well in the second,” Apollo Head Coach Ryne Tinsley said. “Landon Henning had one of the top performances I have seen in the decade I have coached.”

Daviess County 53, Woodford County 50

Leading by one entering the fourth quarter, Daviess County was able to fend off Woodford County 53-50 behind Jonathan Moss’s 24 points. DeAaron Watkins finished with 16 points and seven rebounds, and Michael Acton recorded 10 points, six rebounds, one steal, and one block.

Springfield, TN 65, Owensboro 57

Zeke Behn scored a team-high 16 points as the Red Devils fell to Springfield, TN, 65-57. Tre Shemwell added 10 points, and Daveon Hinton was third on the team in scoring with seven points.

Owensboro Catholic 51, Mayfield 49

Dre’Mail Carothers hit two threes to go along with his game-high 16 points in the Aces’ 51-49 win over Mayfield. Gavin Brasher added 14 points, and Jake Murphy was third on the team in scoring with nine points.

Raiders split double-header

Competing in a two game classic at Tecumseh High School, the Raiders split the double-header, losing to Tecumseh Junior/senior (Lynnville), IN 65-50, but beating New Washington, IN 69-52. In their win over New Washington, Mason Smith led the way with 22 points, and Harrison Barnett added 20 points. Thomas Payne was third on the team in scoring with 14 points.
