The Lady Hornets narrowly beat Trinity (Whitesville), while Owensboro cruised past Hopkinsville.

Hancock County 40, Trinity (Whitesville) 38

Ansley House led the way with 16 points as the Lady Hornets were able to edge out Trinity (Whitesville) 40-38. Carolina Jones had 12 points and six assists, and Madyson Higdon grabbed 10 rebounds and added five points.

For the Lady Raiders, Preslee Meserve led the way with 19 points, and Ry’Lynne Meserve added eight points.

“We competed for 32 minutes, and we rebounded way better than we did the first time we played Hancock,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Emily Hernandez said. “We still need to cut down on the unforced turnovers, but we continue to improve.

Owensboro 66, Hopkinsville 25

Abby Sapp found her shot early and finished with a game-high 20 points to power the Lady Devils past Hopkinsville 66-25. Taylor Sowders had 11 points, and Shaylee Robinson added 10 points.

“I thought we had a very balanced scoring attack, and we did a good job of rebounding,” Owensboro Head Coach Wynn Harris said. “It was a total team effort. We did a good job converting turnovers into points, and I thought we shot the ball well from deep.”
