Huff’s HaHa Club is back with another round of clean comedy on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Kentucky Sound Stage.
Hosted by Owensboro native Laurie Huff, the upcoming show will feature a mix of nationally touring comedians and local talent, with beverages provided by local brewery Brew Bridge.
“The first show was a wonderful experience,” Huff said. “Each comedian brought the laughs with their relatable humor about family, hometowns, and awkward situations. The audience was enthusiastic both during the show and after, with comments like ‘This was just what we needed — a good laugh.’”
This month’s lineup includes Nashville-based comedians Drew Davis and Carrie Murphy, along with Kentucky’s own Kev the Comedian. Davis is the founder of the Clean Comedy Collective and has appeared on multiple television shows and comedy specials. Murphy is known for her work on K-Love OnDemand, including parody songs and character-based comedy, and has written three films. Kev has performed at top venues around the country, including the Jimmy Kimmel Comedy Club in Las Vegas.
Huff said she’s focused on curating a diverse range of comedic styles for each event.
“Comedy comes in many styles and is more enjoyable with a good drink,” she said. “This show will infuse additional forms of comedy beyond stand-up. Carrie Murphy is known for her memorable impressions and character-based performances. We’re also happy to have Brew Bridge on-site so you can enjoy your favorite drink and support a hometown business.”
Also joining the lineup are two local comics making their Huff’s HaHa Club debut: Mr. Volume and Becky Barnhart. Both impressed Huff during the recent open mic night and were invited to perform.
Mr. Volume, an Owensboro-based comic with two years of stand-up experience, has already made appearances on Wild ‘N Out and shared stages with Michael Colyar and Bob Diggs. He describes his approach as connection-driven, aiming to bring people together through humor. Barnhart, meanwhile, is new to stand-up but brings years of public speaking and communications experience to the stage. Huff said her comedic journey began this month, blending her professional background with a sharp sense of humor.
Brew Bridge will offer a full bar experience for the event.
“We are providing bar service for the event, which will include beer, cocktails, wine, and a few other assorted offerings,” said Brew Bridge Owner David Haynes. “We’ll also have Cokes, water, and juices available. We just really enjoy supporting anything artistic and creative that has a local person involved, so it was a no-brainer.”
