Enrollment is open now for Kentucky Wesleyan College’s Wesleyan Academy, an on-campus dual credit program designed to help students begin their college journey early while earning both high school and college credit.
Through the program, students take college courses on Kentucky Wesleyan’s campus alongside full-time college students. Classes are taught by the same faculty and follow full college academic standards as part of the institution’s regular curriculum.
“Wesleyan Academy is about more than earning credit early,” said Matthew Ruark, assistant vice president of enrollment management. “It is about helping students build confidence, independence, and momentum by experiencing college in an authentic setting with the support they need to succeed.”
Wesleyan Academy is designed for students planning to pursue a four-year degree who are ready for college-level expectations and want a purposeful head start. College officials said the program emphasizes preparation rather than acceleration, helping students enter college better equipped for long-term success.
Students earn transferable college credit that applies directly to Kentucky Wesleyan degree programs and may transfer to many other colleges and universities. Structured academic pathways are available in biology, business administration, fine arts, chemistry and teacher education, along with individualized course options based on student goals.
The program is offered at a reduced cost compared to standard college tuition. Eligible Kentucky students may qualify for the Kentucky Dual Credit Scholarship through the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority to help offset the cost of approved courses.
Daviess County Public Schools students can learn more about Wesleyan Academy during a special event on Feb. 18 hosted by the district’s College and Career Readiness team. Registration is available through each high school.
Wesleyan Academy is open to regional students enrolled in public, private or homeschool settings. Families interested in learning more are encouraged to speak with school counselors or college and career readiness teams, or to contact Kentucky Wesleyan’s Office of Admissions.
