An Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation led by the Owensboro Police Department resulted in an arrest Thursday morning, according to OPD.

Police said the investigation began after the department received a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding child sexual abuse material. OPD detectives said their investigation led to the identification of 18-year-old Prestyn Blair.

According to OPD, Blair was taken into custody after detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2300 block of Keenland Parkway in Thruston. Police said Blair was lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center.

OPD reported that Blair was charged with:

Possession of material portraying sexual performance by a minor under 12 (20 counts)

Possession of material portraying sexual performance by a minor over 12/under 18 – first offense (4 counts)

Use of a minor under 16 in a sex performance

Procure or promote use of a minor by electronic means

Police said specially trained detectives assigned to the Owensboro Police Department ICAC Task Force will continue to target individuals who prey on children. OPD said investigations of this nature may lead to the identification of additional suspects or further charges.
