Terry King, 70, of Fordsville Kentucky, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Ohio County on March 4, 2026. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana, on November 26, 1955, where he continued his childhood. Terry met his loving wife, Christine Hendricks, and the two enjoyed going to the Yellow Rose together.
Terry took pride in raising his grandchildren with his wife, Christine. They enjoyed many years together until Christine’s passing. Terry was a hard-working coal miner and worked at Grand Eagle Coal Mine for 39 years, running a drill on the top side of the coal mines. He brought light into many people’s lives, especially his grandchildren, children, and all the friends he made throughout his lifetime. During his time in this world, Terry enjoyed going down to VFW Post 696 with his best friend and listening to the bands play on Saturday night. His favorite was Black Ford Creek and when they played, he would go out on the dance floor with his friends. Terry loved to walk along the river on warm sunny days. He also loved to spend time with his family whether it was going out to dinner or sitting on the porch in the sunshine, grilling and smoking food with his family and enjoying the weather.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine King, and his wife, Christine Hendricks.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Kiley King (Debbie Howard) of North Carolina and Terry R. King of Louisville; grandchildren, Alex King of Owensboro, Rebecca King (Nick Prater) of Fordsville, Tiffany Spears of Evansville, IN., Alyssa Riley of Ekron, and best friend, Shannon Robinson of Owensboro; cousin, Lorena Goff of Oak Town, IN; as well as many other loving family and friends.
