Dorothy Jean Survant (Ballard) 93, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. She was born on January 7, 1933, in Owensboro, Kentucky to Francis Van Ballard and James Leonia Ballard. Married for 45 years to the late William E Survant Jr. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Indianapolis. She enjoyed singing with the church choir. Dorothy worked for G.E. and as a Cosmetician for CVS Drugstore for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed playing Bridge, Euchre and Bingo. Dorothy loved vacations to the beach with family! For many years she hosted a table at The Fatima House in Indianapolis creating elaborate display themes while enjoying High Tea with her guests!
Surviving children are Ivy J Youngs (Steven); Ivan E Survant (Carol); Amy S Donnellan (Scott); & Jesse D Survant. She is also survived by Robin L Survant. Dorothy is survived by 12 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great, Great Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband “Bill”, her parents, & her sister Betty Reynolds.
Visitation will begin 9:30am Monday, March 9 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am. A Committal Service will be followed by Entombment at Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery, 1300 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, Kentucky.
