
Bonnie Carlisle Bowlds went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 7, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Owensboro KY, on April 14, 1950, to the late Shelby Carlisle and Flossie Henry Carlisle Rice. Bonnie was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church.
Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, mamaw and friend. She loved spending time with her family, especially celebrating Christmas. She also enjoyed taking pictures, quilting, crocheting, and following UK basketball.
Along with her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her stepfather Bill Rice, her sister Shannon Carlisle Reynolds, and brothers, Larry, James (Freddie), Keith and Rickey Carlisle, sister in-law Mildred Carlisle, and brother in-law, Ron Vaughn.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 54 years, Roger Dale Bowlds, her sons, Brian (Megan) Bowlds and Kevin Bowlds. Grandchildren, Brianna, Ashley, Braydon, and Allison Bowlds, Joanna Christmas, Lydia Ham, Laura Wink and Lindsey (Jordon) Roberts; her great grandsons, Landon and Tucker Wink, and Jaxton Roberts. Siblings, Jack (Carolyn), Wayne (Mary Rose), Steve (Sonia); sisters, Floetta Vaughn, Sandra (Ron) Sandefur, Elaine Thompson, Kristina Tucker; Sisters-in-laws, Mary, Rexie, Connie and Gail Carlisle, many nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Judy Stamper.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, with Doug Grant officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and will resume on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow the service at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
