William Sidney “Bill” McLaughlin, Sr., 69, of Hartford, passed away on March 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born January 10, 1957, in San Bernadino, California. Bill was a proud United States Air Force veteran and a man known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and ability to fix just about anything.
Bill worked for many years as a diesel mechanic before retiring, though he never truly slowed down. He loved working with his hands – fixing houses, repairing things for others, cooking, and spending time outdoors. He was also known for making the best cheesecakes and never missing a chance to give a thoughtful card to someone he loved.
He was a devoted father to Will (Lacie) McLaughlin, Tiffani (Chad) Anderson-Riley, and Sean McLaughlin, as well as a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and one great-grandson, all of whom brought him great joy.
Bill will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to help others, and the genuine love he showed his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
