A 17-year-old juvenile has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting, according to the Owensboro Police Department. The suspect has been lodged at the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.

The 17-year-old killed in a Friday night shooting on Orchard Street has been identified as Jamarious Butler, and persons of interest have been identified, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

One person has been pronounced dead and another has been transported to the hospital in serious condition after a shooting Friday night, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to OPD, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Orchard Street at approximately 9:23 p.m. in reference to a two‑victim shooting. The OPD Criminal Investigation Unit and Evidence Collection Unit responded to the scene and are currently gathering information and evidence, according to a release issued by OPD at 11:23 p.m.
OPD said one person has been pronounced deceased, and one was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in serious condition.
Details of the shooting are still under investigation. Preliminary information does not indicate an ongoing threat to the public, according to OPD.
