A 17-year-old juvenile has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting, according to the Owensboro Police Department. The suspect has been lodged at the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.

The 17-year-old killed in a Friday night shooting on Orchard Street has been identified, and persons of interest have been identified, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
The Daviess County Coroner’s Office identified 17-year-old Jamarious Butler as the victim who was killed. One adult victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds remains under medical care, authorities said.
According to OPD, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Orchard Street at approximately 9:23 p.m. on March 13 in reference to a two‑victim shooting. Butler was pronounced dead that night, but his identity was not released until Monday. The adult victim was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in serious condition.
In a release Monday afternoon, OPD officials said that detectives have identified persons of interest and are actively conducting interviews, locating additional witnesses, and analyzing evidence.
