It is an exciting weekend for three Lady Devils track stars, as Kimora Duncan, Nakiyah Voyles, and Jazlyn Douglas will all be competing at the 2026 Adidas Indoor National Championships starting later today in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
“Duncan did a lot of weight room training over the summer, dug in, and has really taken off as a true competitor and someone that is challenging everyone on the team to get better,” Owensboro Girls Track Head Coach Matt Morris said. “…Voyles will be jumping this weekend and qualified with a jump of five feet, and her PR is five feet and a quarter inch. We’ve been digging in on trying to get her over that mark and see if we can’t do something at nationals. …Douglas burst onto the scene and just started showing she is the real deal also.”
A major competition in the indoor track world hosted by Adidas every year, there are two ways to qualify – either by height or time, or by acquiring an automatic bid from qualifying for the State Championship meet.
The trio will be competing as individuals in the National Elite division, with Douglas and Duncan running the 60 meter dash, while Voyles qualified for the high jump. Douglas will also be running in the 200.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for some of our girls to go and compete on that national level and get a feel for that big-time competition,” Morris said. “Any coach that has kids competing at a national level has got to be really proud of what they are doing and the efforts they put in because they’re working in practice every day.”
