Douglas B. Behl, 69 of Owensboro passed away March 20, 2026, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky.
Doug was a loner from childhood preferring to sit and draw. He was a gifted artist doing mostly portraits of family, celebrities, and musicians. Doug was a gentle person, sort of a peaceful hippy. He drove a truck for various companies most of his life to make a living. His artistic talent and love of music from Elvis to AC/DC were his most loved pastimes. He did love his family and liked family gatherings. He and his best friend, our sister Shellene, were together the last years like peas and carrots. She took care of him to the end.
Douglas was proceeded in death by his father; Albert Behl, and sister; Corrine Stoudt
He is survived by his mother, Norma Behl; son, Nathan Behl (Megan Fetters) of Springfield Tn; granddaughter, McKenna Fetters; siblings, Craig Behl (Susan), Shellene Gibson, Brent Behl (Tammy), and Natalie Montrastelle (Pete) all of Owensboro.
The family will be hosting a private memorial at a future date in Illinois.
