South Warren 2, Apollo 1
Tied 1-1 after seven, Apollo was unable to pull out the win in extra innings, dropping a heartbreaker to South Warren 2-1. Ty Lillpop, Ryleigh Logan, and Jackson Carder all had two hits, Brayden Burger drove in a run, and Geordyn Stevens went 1-3. Isaac James started on the mound, allowing one run over six innings, while Logan pitched in relief.
McLean County 4, Daviess County 3
Trailing 3-2 entering the bottom of the eighth, the Cougars Jordan Bailey came through with a two-run single for a 4-3 walk-off win. Bailey went 2-4 with two RBIs, while Jaelin Groves, Brooks Lynam, Layden Bozarth, Jayden Taylor, and Corbin Martin all had hits. On the mound, Will Gatton allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings, striking out nine, while Martin pitched in relief.
For the Panthers, Cameron Rickard went 1-3, John Rue and Logan Mason both drove in runs, and Gavin Howard went 1-3 with a walk. Rickard started on the mound, allowing two earned runs over 4 2/3 innings, while Benjamin Watkins and Weston Lawrence both pitched in relief.
Owensboro splits double-header
In a doubleheader, the Red Devils fell to Elizabethtown 3-1, but beat Madisonville-North Hopkins 4-3. Against Madisonville, Brody Glenn drove in a pair of runs, while Hayden McBride went 3-4. L Wink started on the mound, allowing two earned runs over 3 2/3 innings, while Jordan Quesnell pitched in relief.
Owensboro Catholic sweeps double-header
It was an impressive Saturday for the Aces as they swept their doubleheader, beating Paducah Tilghman 10-0 and Henderson County 11-3. Against Paducah Tilghman, Gentry Atwell started on the mound, throwing 3 1/3 shutout innings, striking out threw, while Myles Grant pitched 1 2/3 perfect innings in relief.
Against Henderson County, Barrett Evans hit a two-run homer, Mason Moser and Jake Murphy both drove in a pair of runs, and Jaxson White went 2-4 with an RBI.
