Robert Eugene Rowan, 69, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away in the early morning hours of April 2, 2026, at Heartford House, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, he was the son of Ronald and Dorothy Rowan. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and “Papa,” and a man who seemed to know everyone in the community-and was known and loved right back.
He shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Karen Rowan. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, and caring for others. He was a proud father to Amanda Rowan and Ryan Rowan (April), and a deeply devoted Papa to his grandchildren, Reece and Lilianna, who brought him his greatest joy.
He is also survived by his parents, Ronald and Dorothy Rowan; his brothers, Ronnie Rowan (Debbie) and Ricky Rowan (Tammy); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob was truly a man of many trades. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he worked at Ragu Foods, where he later retired. But his work didn’t stop there. On the side, he spent years doing concrete work, landscaping, lawn care, and serving as a handyman for anyone who needed help. If something needed fixing, Bob was the one people called-and he never hesitated to lend a hand.
Until he no longer could, he was the proud owner of Limos by Bob. He took great pride in driving friends, family, and members of the community to their events, near and far, always making sure they got there safely and with a smile.
He was also a founding and active member of the Apollo Area Alliance, where he took pride in supporting and strengthening his community.
More than anything, Bob loved being a Papa. Whether it was attending ball games, school events, or simply spending time together at home, those moments meant everything to him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heartford House for the compassionate care and comfort they provided during his final days.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to help anyone in need, and the lasting impact he made on so many lives. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be at 12:00pm on Monday, April 6, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date at Sorgho Baptist Church Cemetery.
