
James Edward Diehl, age 89, of Hardinsburg, KY, passed away April 4, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Newark, Ohio on February 16, 1937. Jim retired from a Corrosion Preventive Company and spent his days on the late crappie fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents William B. Diehl and Loretta Bolander, stepmother Reba Tate Diehl, wife Mary L. Diehl, son Mark Thomas Diehl, grandson Cameron Drake Roberson, brothers Charlie, Billy and Doug Diehl, Johnny Bolander and 1 stepdaughter.
Jim is survived by his wife Marcella Diehl.
3 children: James Michael Diehl (Karen), Lisa Jane Hagman and Laura Jean Roberson
3 grandchildren: Zachary Roberson (Bailee), Callie Jennings (Steven) and Andrew Hagman (Hallie)
4 great grandchildren
6 stepchildren, 10 step grandchildren and 20 step great grandchildren.
Brother and sisters: Scotty Diehl, Brenda Lucas, Cathy Henning, Susie Clemons and Tayce Jeffries.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 1 PM with burial in the Sand Knob Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Wednesday.
