Deborah “Debbie” J. Loyd, 70, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born January 31, 1956 in Bowling Green to the late Joe and Betty J. Jones. Debbie attended Hancock County High School and later earned her GED. She was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Her loves in life were her family, cooking big dinners, and antiques. Everyone was welcome, family or not. From the time she was little, she always loved animals. She loved cats the most, but was known to feed any little critter that came along, even if it was an opossum. She enjoyed working in her yard. She loved flowers, bright colors, and yard sales.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tony Puckett on September 17, 2000.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Loyd; children, Shannon (Daniel) Martin, Annie Puckett, Johnny Puckett, Christie (Jude) Steele, and Jerel Loyd; six grandchildren, Jordan Puckett (Emily Bowman), Brandon Loyd (Morgan), Sarah Tredgold (Will), Anna Payne, Jasmine Loyd, and Christian Loyd; six great-grandchildren; sister, Pam Fulkerson (Rick); brother, David Jones (Toni); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
