
Patrick Joseph Thompson, 70, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on March 6, 1956, in Daviess County, to the late Charles Daniel and Martha Ellen Englert Thompson.
Patrick was a lifelong farmer in the St. Joseph community. He was a member of the Daviess County Pork Producers where he also volunteered regularly and was involved with 4-H. Patrick was a very generous person and would help others any time they needed it. Most of all, he loved spending time with his seven wonderful grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Daniel “Danny” Thompson Jr. and Joseph “Joey” Thompson.
Patrick is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Daniel) Blandford; two sons, Nathan Thompson and Brian (Hadley) Thompson; grandchildren, Claire, Henry, Eleanor, Beatrice, and Andrew Blandford, Brooke and Allie Thompson; siblings, Theresa (Doug) Roberts, Tom (MaryAnn) Thompson, Phillip (Kelly) Thompson, Richard (Debbie ) Thompson, and Carolyn (Jason) Elder; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass for Patrick will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Father John Okoro and Father Jerry Riney officiating. Burial to follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. on Friday with prayers at 6:30 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, and from 9 a.m. until time of the Mass on Saturday at the church.
