It was an eventful day for the coverage teams, as Apollo shutout Daphne and Hancock County, and Owensboro Catholic both won. In other action, Owensboro and Trinity (Whitesville) both lost.

Apollo 4, Daphne 0

Mollie Julian was nearly untouchable in the circle, throwing a complete game shutout with eight strikeouts as Apollo beat Daphne 4-0. Emersyn Bullington went 2-3 with an RBI, Hannah Holder, and Annsley Hall both drove in runs, and Tyler Hall and Keelan Wettstain both recorded hits.

Hancock County 9, Grant County 2

The Lady Hornets scored five runs in the top of the second and never looked back, beating Grant County 9-2. Gracie Gaynor drove in a pair of runs, Ava Riggs went 1-3 with two RBIs, and Audrey Carnes and Ansley House both drove in runs.

Assumption 19, Owensboro 4

The Lady Raiders fell behind 6-0 early in the first inning and never fully recovered, losing to Assumption 19-4. Sydney Stallings, India Allgood, and Audrey Potter all drove in runs, while Hayley Sikes went 1-2 and scored a run.

Owensboro Catholic 14, Paducah Tilghman 3

Lily Logsdon homered and drove in three runs as the Lady Aces overwhelmed Paducah Tilghman, beating them 14-3. Maddie Alvey, Taylor Clark, and Anna Beth Hamilton combined for five hits and seven RBIs, while Emma Riney, Lyla Arnold, and Carley Brey all drove in runs. Ava Mudd threw a complete game in the circle, allowing two earned runs over five innings, striking out six.

Meade County 4, Trinity (Whitesville) 0

The Lady Raiders offense had no answer for Meade County’s pitching staff, falling 4-0. Ella Morris threw a complete game in the circle, allowing three earned runs over six innings, striking out eight.
