The City of Owensboro Public Works Department will conduct its annual spring “Pothole Blitz” next week as crews work to repair road damage caused by winter weather.
The citywide effort is scheduled for April 13-17 and will focus on identifying problem areas with help from residents. Public Works officials said freeze-thaw cycles during the winter often create cracks in pavement, allowing water to seep beneath the surface and form potholes.
Residents are encouraged to report potholes by contacting City Action via email at [email protected], by phone at 270-687-4444, or online at owensboro.org/cityaction. Reports should include as much detail as possible, such as a specific address or nearby intersection.
City crews will begin repairing reported potholes the following week, with patching scheduled from April 20 through May 1.
Potholes located on state or county-maintained roads will be forwarded to the appropriate agencies for repair.
