Carla Rose Fletcher, 77, of Owensboro, passed away on April 9, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on December 9, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, and was the beloved daughter of the late Carl and Buelah Rutledge.
Carla loved her family dearly and enjoyed nothing more than a house full of her favorite people and pets. She was a hardworking woman, serving for many years as part owner of a construction cleaning company in Florida. In her younger years, Carla was energetic and athletic, enjoying a wide range of sports from softball to motorcycle racing. She carried an adventurous spirit throughout her life, always eager to hit the open road and discover new places.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lorraine Hatcher, Bonnie Wilson, Zane Rutledge, Jerry Rutledge, Barbara Champ, Shirley Brown, Janet Thomas, and Wanda Prosser, as well as a grandson, Austin Lusher.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Shelly Deal, Gary Lusher, Amy Howard, Heather Fletcher, and Jamie Prater; sister, Charlotte Stevens; grandchildren, Jennifer, Anthony, Wyatt, Erica, Kristy, Brittany, Dallas, Stormie, Katie, and Lilly; great grandchildren, Emma, Ayden, Chris, Carly, Talen, Hadley, Kinsley, Elizabeth, Houston, and Noah; as well as many other loving family and friends.
