Trinity (Whitesville) rallied to beat Grayson County on the road, while McLean County fell in a pitchers’ duel to Madisonville-North Hopkins.

Madisonville-North Hopkins 2, McLean County 1

Layden Bozarth threw a complete game on the mound, allowing two earned runs over seven innings as the Cougars fell to Madisonville-North Hopkins 2-1. Jaelin Groves went 1-4 and stole home for the Cougars’ lone run of the game, Brooks Lynam finished 1-2, and Will Gatton went 1-3.

Trinity (Whitesville) 7, Grayson County 3

Trailing 1-0 early, the Raiders scored four runs in the sixth and added three in the seventh to beat Grayson County 7-3. RJ Cecil crushed a two-run double to start the scoring for Trinity, and Keaton  Abbott singled home two more. In the seventh inning, the Raiders added three insurance runs on an RBI triple, a bases-loaded walk, and Isaac Hernandez stealing home.

Cecil finished 1-4 with two RBIs, Cale Boarman went 2-4, and Kayin Howard went 2-3 and scored a pair of runs. Cecil started on the mound, allowing two earned runs over 6 1/3 innings, while Hernandez recorded the final two outs in relief.
