Walter Hubert Farmer, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on January 30, 1940 in Owensboro to the late Walter Sr. and Claira Webb Farmer. Walter was a United States Marines Veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1960 to 1966.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Lee Farmer and Carmenlita Farmer Brown.
Survivors include his children, Lisa Michelle Pate (Billy) of Owensboro and Michael Dewitt Farmer (Therese) of Oxford, OH; grandchildren, Billy Pate III, Christopher Pate, Elizabeth DePoint, Matthew Farmer, and Samuel Farmer; sister, Darlene Dillon (Matt); and nieces and nephews, Brian Jolly, James Brown and also Debbie Novotny, Donna Elliott, and Jeff Elliott.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
