Marie Madeline Booker, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation. She was born July 15, 1949 to the late Joe and Lucette Aubry Rohrer in Russellville, Kentucky. Marie loved animals especially her precious cats. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, woodworking, crocheting, and being outdoors. Marie was a very active country girl. But most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by children, John Thomas Booker and Michelle Booker; sisters, Elizabeth and her spouse, Jack Whipple, of Cadiz and Monica Parker; niece, Simone Parker; and a nephew, Jack “J.J.” Whipple, II.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gerald Booker; sons, Michael Booker and Daniel Booker; siblings, Mary Agnes Gorrie (Peter) of South Glens Falls, NY, Frances Rohrer of Hopkinsville, Michael Rohrer (Margaret) of Pensacola, FL, Phillip Rohrer of Russellville, KY, and Michelle Russell (George) of Orange, TX; 15 nieces and nephews; and 19 great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
