William “Bill” Allen, 83, of Owensboro, passed away on April 27, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Owensboro on March 31, 1943, to the late Earl and Mary Alice (Roberts) Allen.
Bill was a devoted member of Precious Blood Catholic Church who loved helping others through AA and found great joy in spending time with his family, participating in his church community, tending to his garden, and playing cards with those he loved, especially his brother.
Along with his parents, Earl and Mary Alice Allen, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Ratliff) Allen; his son, Joseph Allen, Sr.; and his siblings, Joe Allen and Patty Deno.
Those left to cherish his memory include his grandson, Joseph Allen, Jr.; his great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Paxton, and Killian; siblings, James Allen and Margaret Jolly and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on April 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Fr. Carl McCarthy officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial to follow at Smith-Ratliff Cemetery in McLean County, Kentucky.
