Bettie Lou Adkins, age 71 of Madrid, KY, passed away May 1, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Louisville, KY on August 16, 1954, daughter of the late Ralph Rogers and Bettie Marie Powers. She retired from Ralston Purina. Her interests include playing Bingo, fishing, hiking and watching the UK Wildcats. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Willma Rogers and Bettie Marie Rogers, son Michael Shawver and 2 great grandchildren Baby Strain and Baby Finn.

Grandchildren and great grandchildren: Ashley Hess, Keydon Hess, Siera Hess, Kaia Hess, Sophia Wise Hess, MaKenzie Finn, Mya Finn, Joshua Fields (Genesis Adkins), Joshua Lou, Anastasia Durham, Bentley Reine, Jake Owen, Bryce Basham, Emerson Basham, Evander Basham, Holly, Christina and Courtney.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 11 AM with burial in the Hudson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 4 – 8 PM and Thursday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
