Connie Ann Terry Greenwell, 74, of Owensboro, passed away on May 15, 2026. She was born in Owensboro on April 27, 1952, to the late William Earl and Ruth Ellen Roby Terry.
Connie was a devoted member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed crafting, basket making, and painting. Her love for creating led her to start a craft business with her best friend, Debbie, called “Creative Scraps”, where she was able to share her talents and passion with others. Connie also loved traveling, especially to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, which held a very special place in her heart. Gatlinburg was her and her beloved husband’s special place, where they shared a timeshare for 25 years and made many cherished memories together.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 53 years, Frederic Greenwell; children, Laura (Rob) Gillim, Sara (Jeremy) Mowers, and Becky (David) Peerman; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bryan) Esparza, Valerie (Garrett) Small, Catherine Gillim, Anthony Mowers, Hunter Mowers, Leslie Greenwell, Zachary Peerman and Garrett Peerman; great-grandchildren, Avan Esparza, Damian Esparza and one more on the way; siblings, Martha Zoglmann, Nancy Greenwell, and Kenny (Sheila) Terry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, with Fr. Jamie Dennis presiding, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will resume on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
