
Nancy Jean Quisenberry Evitts 87
Of Madisonville, KY formerly of Greenville, died Monday, May 18, 2026 in Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville following a lengthy illness. Nancy was born on December 25, 1938 in Muhlenberg County the daughter of James Quisenberry and Pauline Watkins Quisenberry. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Nancy was a teacher in Virginia working at Richmond Christian School, before returning to Kentucky. In Greenville, Nancy joined the Greenville Church of Christ and was a long time substitute for the Muhlenberg County Board of Education. Nancy was always creative in whatever she was working on, whether it was writing and illustrating children’s stories, or spending her time baking homemade pies and fudge. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 58 years, Kenneth Aaron Evitts in 2016, three Brothers, Jerry Quisenberry, Tommy Quisenberry and, Bobby Quisenberry, and two sisters, Margaret Manning and Glenda Ford.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 1:00 pm from Gary’s Funeral Home by Reverend Tom Stovall with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens in Powderly, KY. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning after 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
