Norman Adams

Norman Adams, 86, of Lewisport, passed away Tuesday, May 26, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. He was born May 14, 1940, to the late Willie C. and George Ella Adams.

Norman graduated from Hancock County High School and went on to dedicate much of his professional life to Commonwealth Aluminum, which is now Aleris, where he was known for his diligent work ethic and commitment. Beyond his career, he found joy and fulfillment in numerous hobbies that enriched his life and brought happiness to those around him. An avid gardener, Norman took great pleasure in cultivating his garden and generously sharing the fruits of his labor with his neighborhood, fostering a spirit of community and kindness. He also cherished the outdoor pursuits of hunting and fishing, activities that connected him with nature and offered moments of reflection and enjoyment. Additionally, Norman held a fondness for the excitement of the racetrack, embracing these experiences with enthusiasm.

Perhaps one of Norman’s proudest accomplishments was his longstanding role as a faithful member of the Little Flock Baptist Church. There, he devoted many years to teaching Sunday School, a testament to his commitment to his faith and his desire to nurture and guide others. His contributions to the church community have left a lasting legacy of spiritual encouragement and devotion.

In addition to his parents, Norman is preceded in death by his brothers, Willie C., Frank, Bing, James and David Lee Adams; and his sister, Rebecca Mundy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 65 years, Karla Adams; daughters, Cherri Henderson (Raynarldo) of Paducah, KY and Terri Robinson (Henry) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Jason Robinson, Jessica Robinson, Adam Henderson (Vashti), Raiona Henderson and Lauren Henderson; greatgrandchildren, Keelyn Henderson, Kasir Henderson and Phoenix Robinson; sister-in-law, Violetta Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Norman will be 12 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calhoun Cemetery.
