
Betty G. Shaw, passed away on June 12, 2026, and was born on March 4, 1940, to the late Louis and Tabitha Goodhue. She grew up in the close-knit community of Horse Cave, Kentucky, and later spent the majority of her life in Louisville before moving to Beaver Dam, Kentucky.
A dedicated housewife and mother, Betty’s true calling and greatest joy in life was her family. She poured her heart into creating a warm, welcoming home and loved her family deeply, leaving them with a lifetime of cherished memories. Betty was a woman of strong Baptist faith and a devoted member of Lynn Acres Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings: her sisters, Verna Jewell and Mary Briggs, and her brothers, Earl, Louis, and Carl Goodhue.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 68 years, Mala Shaw. Her legacy of love lives on through her three children: Kay (Danny) Edwards, Louie (Kelly) Shaw, and Donnie (Angie) Shaw.
She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren: Carl, Cristina, Billy, Shavonna, Samantha, Tabetha, Parker, DJ, Mahaley, Austin and Logan; and the doting great-grandmother of eight great-grandchildren: Gage, Elizabeth, Isaiah, Olivia, Payton, Haley, Blake, and James.
A memorial service to honor Betty’s life will be held on March 6, 2027, at Pathway Missionary Baptist Church, 3973 US Hwy 231 S, Beaver Dam, KY 42320.
