Melody Ann (Stevens) Hamilton

Melody Ann Hamilton, 70, of Lewisport, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, passed from this life and into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Born in Zanesville, Ohio. Melody spent most of her life in Columbus, Ohio. For numerous years she lived with her son, James, whom she loved wholeheartedly and deeply cherished. Their bond was a true testament to a mother’s love, and those years together held a special place in her heart. She later made a cherished move to Kentucky to be near her daughter and to grow in her love for her grandchildren.

In the final chapter of her life, Melody found a profound and abiding faith. She was recently saved and embraced the Lord wholeheartedly, and her love for Him became a cornerstone of her days. She delighted in her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with family. One of her simple joys was spending late nights watching reruns with her son-in-law, Ricky, a pastime that brought her much laughter and comfort. She also had a great love for browsing yard sales and thrift stores, and some of her most treasured memories were made on those outings with her son, James and Erica Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edna Pearl Stevens and Edwin Theodore Stevens.

She is survived by her children Jackie (Rickey) Ward and James Hamilton; sisters Margaret Ann Messer, Lena Smith and Carol Smith; grandchildren Destiny (Hunter) Sanders, Charity, Abigail and Joshua Ward, Lexi, Taylor and AJ Hamilton, James Abendroth, Jamie Dalaba and two lifelong friends Phyllis Thompson and Nancy Hynus, whose friendship and love meant the world to her.

A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, 201 W. Warwick Drive, Owensboro, KY 42303.
