Wesley Joe Mattingly, 41, of Owensboro, passed away on June 19, 2026. He was born on August 4, 1984, to Edward “Ed” Lawrence Mattingly and Tammy Jane (Jackson) Mattingly.
Wesley never hesitated to lend a helping hand. No matter the time or the task, he was the kind of person who would help anyone at the drop of a hat. His caring heart and willingness to put others before himself left a lasting impact on family and friends. He had a deep love for animals of every kind. His love for nature reflected his curiosity, compassion, and ability to find beauty where others might not. Music was another great passion in his life. Whether listening to his favorite songs or spending hours strumming on one of his guitars, music brought him joy and peace. The melodies he played became part of the soundtrack of our lives, creating memories that will forever echo in our hearts.
Wesley was preceded in death by his father, Edward “Ed” Lawrence Mattingly.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Tammy Jane (Jackson) Mattingly; brothers and sisters, Eddie (Jackie) Mattingly, Corey Mattingly, Melinda Mattingly, Jared (Brook) Mattingly, Jeremy (Heather) Mattingly, Devin Mattingly, Justin Mattingly, and Micah (Nolan) Roberts; nieces and nephews, Leigha (Daniel) Martin, Madelyn Petri, Hayden Mattingly, Keaton Mattingly, Malayah Mattingly, Easton Mattingly, Maddox Mattingly, Hudson Mattingly, Zane Mattingly, Khyler Mattingly, Dawson Mattingly, and Bella Mattingly.
