Greenville – Carole Sue Rice, age 87, of Greenville, passed away June 25, 2026 at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 15, 1938, the daughter of Sidney Coombs and Retha Mae Rice Coombs. She was a member of Orange Grove General Baptist Church in Christian County.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11:00 am from Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville officiated by Bro. Jerry Sweeney and assisted by Bro. Autry Moore. Burial will follow in Greens Chapel Church Cemetery in Greenville; KY, with Gary’s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Donald Rice and one son, Timothy Rice and a sister, Ima Jewel Sadler.
She is survived by one son, Dwight Alan (Robin) Rice of Greenville, KY; Five Grandchildren, Leslye (Craig) Patton of Owensboro, KY, Derek Rice of Greenville, KY, Holly Renae Cobb of Central City, KY, Michael Rice of Booneville, IN, Nathaniel Rice of Murray, KY; Five Great Grandchildren, Alyvia Cobb of Central City, KY, Keydon Cobb of Central City, KY, Bryson Rice, proudly serving his country in Poland, Nolan Patton of Owensboro, KY and Layla Marie Rust of Central City, KY One Great-Great Granddaughter, Amelia Rose Blue, One brother, Freddie (Diane) Coombs of Central City, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Gary’s Funeral Home between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, after 9:00 am until time of funeral at 11:00 am.
