The remainder of ROMP Festival 2026 has been canceled as organizers cited worsening weather conditions and growing safety concerns on the festival grounds for attendees. The ROMP trolley provided by Visit Owensboro will also no longer be running.
Festival officials announced the decision just before noon on Saturday after consulting with the National Weather Service, Daviess County Emergency Management Agency, and the Daviess County Fiscal Court.
According to organizers, an updated forecast from the National Weather Service called for significant, sustained rainfall that is expected to create increasingly hazardous camping conditions while also making it more difficult for festivalgoers to safely exit Yellow Creek Park throughout the day.
“The safety of our attendees, artists, volunteers, vendors, crew, and staff is our highest priority,” organizers said in a statement.
Attendees are being asked to begin packing their campsites and make plans to leave the festival grounds as safely as possible.
ROMP organizers said the decision was made with heavy hearts.
“We always pour our hearts and souls into making ROMP the most special weekend of the year, and we cannot express how sad we are to make this decision,” the statement said. “Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support during this difficult situation.”
Organizers said additional information will be provided soon.
