James Kevin Owens, 56, of Owensboro died Friday, June 26, 2026 surrounded by family while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in Owensboro on January 3, 1970 to the late James Douglas Owens and Mary Helen Greenlee Maupin, who survives. James was a hard-working man in life and at Glenmore. He enjoyed cooking and loved taking trips to the mountains, going fishing and hunting, and spending time with family, especially his grandkids. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Nade and Elsie Mae Greenlee and paternal grandparents, James and Mary Owens.
Survivors in addition to his mother, Mary Maupin (Joe); include his wife, Tina Owens; children, Kara Owens, Justin Berry, Tiffany Alsup, Elizabeth Whitehouse, and Christiana Bennett; four grandchildren, Piper Berry, Benjamin Baird, Ashton Alsup, and Maverick Whitehouse; siblings, Jerry Owens (Beth), Dana Jennings (Brian), Matt Renfrow (Karyn) and Jason Bigger (Melani); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00pm until 6:00pm on Wednesday July 1, 2026 at James H Davis Funeral Home & Crematory.
