
Daniel Ray “Danny” Hill, Sr. age 68 of Custer, KY, passed away June 27, 2026. He was born in Louisville, KY on January 29, 1958. Danny and his wife Phyllis were former owners of Color Tyme TV Rentals and prior to retirement, he was a car salesman for Bob Swope, Tony Brown and Big M Chevrolet. Danny’s outgoing personality and knowledge of the car industry made buyers feel comfortable and eager to purchase from him. He enjoyed NASCAR, UK basketball, raising a garden and tinkering in his garage. He was a talented basketball player for Breckinridge County High School and still holds the record for career, season and game rebounds and he is a member of the 1000 point club. Danny was a hard worker, a devoted husband and father and “Doda” to his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother Pat Hill, brother Chris Hill, grandparents who raised him Miller and Valeria Tate and father and mother-in-law: Howard and Charlotte Mitcham.
Danny is survived by his wife Phyllis Hill of Custer, KY. They have loved each other since first grade.

2 grandchildren: Blake and Bailey Hill
Many aunts, uncles, cousins and their families and his constant furry companions Bud and Colton.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 5 PM with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 2 – 5 PM. All times are central.
