Luke Braden Parks

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Luke Braden Parks on July 3, 2026.

Luke had a heart of gold, and a personality that could brighten any room. He loved to joke, laugh and aggravate those he loved just to get a smile out of them. His favorite pastime was playing cards with family and friends. His quick wit, infectious laugh and caring heart made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him. He loved deeply, lived authentically and left a lasting impression on the lives of his family and friends.

Luke was preceded in death by his brother Dakota Wayne Parks; stepfather Terry Carman; grandparents Jerry and Carol Braden; grandfathers James Parks and Henry Carman.

He is lovingly survived by his mother Jennifer Braden Carman; father Robert (Tandi) Parks; son Zachary Parks; stepsiblings Sarah and Matthew Carman; grandmothers Dorothy Parks and Linda Carman; aunts and uncles Darren and Tamara Hall, Judy Calhoun, Brenda Roebough, Mike Parks, cousins Maddie (Cody) Wilson, Drew (Jazzy) Hall, Andy Parks, Brittany Calhoun, David and Justin O’Bryan; along with a host of great aunts, great uncles, extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

Luke also leaves behind his best friends, Landon Baker, Emily Howard, Dakota (Maria) Allgood, and Sarah Culbertson, whose friendship meant so much to him.

Although our hearts are shattered by this unimaginable loss, we are thankful for every moment we were blessed to have Luke. His laughter, kindness and love will forever remain in our hearts. While we cannot understand why his time with us was so short, we find comfort in knowing that his memory will live on through everyone whose lives he touched.

“Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.”

Funeral service will be held at 12pm Thursday, July, 9, 2026 at Geary Funeral Home of Fordsville with burial to follow in Beatty Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm and Thursday from 10am until service time at the funeral home.
