Karen Gene Leach Marksberry died on July 2, 2026. She was born to Ernest Leslie Leach and Kathryne Gene Martin Leach in Daviess County, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Brenda Charlene Leach of Columbia, TN.
Karen worked as a floral designer at Welborn Florist and Owensboro Smith florist while raising her son. She later obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology from Brescia College. She was employed at Owensboro Health Lab for 15 years until her retirement in 2016.
She is survived by her son, Michael Casey Marksberry of Utica; grandson, Evan Casey Marksberry of Louisville; and granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Marksberry of Evansville; sisters, Leslie Ann Wardrip (Scott) of Owensboro and Mary Corey Hall (Jeff) of Utica; four nieces and nephews; and seven great nieces and nephews.
She loved her family and always felt blessed with the most kind, loving, and faithful family anyone could ever hope to be a part of.
At the request of Karen, there will be no memorial service.
